This site is run by Cliff Mogridge, Lewmar/Whitlock Distributor, Service Agent and former Lewmar employee (for 15 years).

We are based at Emsworth Yacht Harbour, U.K.

Cliff served an apprenticeship as a machine tool fitter and turner at George Kingsbury in Gosport,

He also worked at Camper & Nicholson before joining Lewmar in 1986, where he built America's Cup and Whitbread Round the World (later Volvo) race winch systems as well as large custom electric and hydraulic powered winches for the superyachts. He then progressed to product managing the Lewmar Windlass Division until becoming self employed in 2002.

Cliff was appointed as Whitlock/Lewmar agent by Lewmar MD Robert Hill in 2004 to support the steering sector of the business when the Whitlock Service agents retired and has specialised in Yacht Steering Systems since then.

Cliff, also known as Whitlock South/Winch Servicing, provides back up for the original Whitlock steering systems and the current Lewmar steering systems including autopilot drive units.
